Opera Mini 2.0

A new version of one of my favorite mobile applications, Opera Mini has been released, adding several new features:
New features in Opera Mini 2.0 include:
Content download: Download images, MP3s, etc. directly to the phone.
New skins: Make Opera Mini your own by selecting from several new and bold skins to suit your mood.
Multisearch: Opera Mini offers advanced searching functionality by allowing users to select extra search engines for the home page.
Speed dial: Bookmarks displayed on the home page are assigned a shortcut key combination, giving users faster and easier access to theirfavorite sites.
Visual navigation: Quick and smooth horizontal panning when browsing backwards or forwards.
The content download, along with a browser-to-SMS m-commerce feature, should be pretty huge. I’ve talked before about how Opera licenses Mini to allow companies to customize it and create de facto mobile applications — add a mobile content portal to the list of possibilities.
The browsing experience with Opera Mini was already pretty great, and the content download ability is a significant improvement, and the other new features add some nice usability touches. Stroll on over to http://mini.opera.com/ from either your desktop or mobile to download it and get going.
